#Nuneaton tunnel refurb update – let the painting begin!

The refurbishment of the tunnel that links Wheat Street to Oaston Road, Nuneaton, is undergoing the next phase of its transformation.

Community Payback (offenders working in the community) have started the massive task of painting the approach walls and the internal walls of the tunnel.

Once the painting has been finished an anti-graffiti coating will be applied so any further graffiti can be washed off with soapy water rather than being painted over.

But we still need your help as residents!

The first graffiti has emerged on the new lighting (which, fortunately, can be easily removed) but we need your help to identify the graffiti to help with prosecutions and reduce repeat attacks.

Do you know who is committing the graffiti within the tunnel?

Can you identify the ‘tags’?

Have you heard who is causing the damage?

If you can help with the identification of any ‘tags’ or know who is doing the damage please contact Warwickshire Police on 101, or anonymously to Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 or email communitysafety@warwickshire.gov.uk
