#Nuneaton tunnel pretty as a picture…

Tunnel02On Wednesday 10th September young people from Warwickshire Youth Justice Service, Warwickshire County Council’s Community Safety Project Officers and Community Payback offenders took delivery of the artwork for decoration of the tunnel that joins Wheat Street to Oaston Road in Nuneaton.

The murals include famous faces of individuals from Nuneaton, such as Larry Grayson, best remembered for hosting the BBC’s The Generation Game, and historical images such as Astley Castle, said to be home for a time to Lady Jane Grey, the “nine days’ queen”.

The final murals will be put in place on Friday 13th¬†September ready for the tunnel’s official opening on Sunday 15th September at 12 noon.
