Confused about alcohol units?

We hope you had a great long weekend. If you had a few drinks in the sun, you might be wondering…

What is a unit?

One unit is 10 ml of pure alcohol. It takes the average adult around an hour to process this so that there’s none left in their bloodstream, although this varies from person to person.

It’s a bit early for reading though, so why not watch this short clip from Drinkaware to find out more (can’t beat a Tuesday morning animation):

Remember, if you’re concerned about your own or someone else’s drinking, you can contact Compass Warwickshire and The Recovery Partnership for free and confidential support and advice.
