Warwickshire’s Domestic Abuse Support Service introduces new helpline specifically for men on #InternationalMensDay 2014

Today is International Men’s Day and to mark the occasion Warwickshire’s Domestic Abuse Support Service has announced that a new helpline is to be introduced specifically for men experiencing domestic abuse. The helpline will be manned by a male worker and will be a welcome new addition to the general domestic abuse helpline it currently operates in Warwickshire.

International Men’s Day (19 November) is a global occasion to celebrate men and boys. It’s objectives include a focus on men’s and boy’s health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models. It is an occasion for men to celebrate their achievements and contributions, in particular their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care while highlighting the discrimination against them.
