Warwickshire Observatory has produced a briefing analysing the latest trends in relation to business crime in the county.
Business crime is defined as “any criminal offence that is committed against a person or property that is motivated by the connection of that person or property to a business”.
The briefing reveals that overall there has been a reduction in business crime across Warwickshire over the past 4 years. However, more recent figures (April – August 2014) are showing an increase.
A priority for the Police and Crime Commissioner, the Observatory have considered what business crime is, what the national and local picture in Warwickshire looks like, and what work is being undertaken by partners to tackle the issue.
The briefing includes advice on how businesses can protect themselves from being a victim of this type of crime including signing up to Business Watch operated by Warwickshire Police.
