Police off-road bike teams were out and about across Nuneaton and Bedworth and North Warwickshire over the weekend; all areas where reports had been received from the public were visited in an attempt to disrupt this nuisance activity.
On Sunday 22nd February the bike team visited the Coleshill area and located 2 quad bikes and 9 off road bikes that were being used in an anti-social manner – all riders were served with a Section 59 notice – which means if they are caught again their bikes can be confiscated and crushed.
Sgt Mitch Oakley also arrested an individual that was wanted by West Midlands Police and a further individual for drug related offences.
Over the 3 days there was a total of 19 section 59 notices issued and 2 arrests.
Further off road deployments are being planned, so if your area suffers with nuisance motorbikes please call the Police on 101 to report the incident or complete the online form at http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/dobemin
