The event was also used to up date professionals working in this field and there were presentations from associated projects such as Warwickshire’s Child Sexual Exploitation campaign ‘Something’s not right’ and Coventry’s Female Genital Mutilation campaign ‘It stops with me’.

Delegates also heard from professionals whose work had benefited from the existence of the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (e.g. Police Specially Trained Officers).

Of particular note was the presentation from Duncan Craig a male survivor of sexual abuse and now leading campaigner.  http://www.survivorsmanchester.org.uk/

The Blue Sky Centre

is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) for women, men and children; it recognises all forms of sexual violence including:

  • Rape
  • Sexual Assault
  • Childhood Sexual Abuse
  • Rape within marriage
  • Female Genital Mutilation
  • Trafficking
  • Sexual Exploitation

The Blue Sky Centre staff realise how difficult it is to speak out following an assault. At the SARC you can expect to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. You will be in control of your decision making; it is on your terms and in your time.
