Once a fear generator for crime now a cleaned, well lit and welcoming area between two well used park areas in Nuneaton. The tunnel that links Riversley park to the Pingles park has had foliage cut back, the area cleaned and now the final part in the puzzle – a graffiti art mural.
The mural represents the history of Riversley park with the references to the wildlife and music, along with the sports and recreation used in the Pingles park. The artist Peter Barber was commissioned by James Bennett (Reel People) following funding being secured by WCC Community Safety Team. The hope is now that the area has been finished users of the parks will keep a close eye on the tunnel and report any damage to the Police on 101.
