Frosty Mornings. Warning! Don’t leave vehicles unattended #vehicle crime
This morning three cars have been stolen from drives of houses in Kenilworth and Snitterfield. The cars were left unattended with the keys in the ignition and the engine running whilst they were being defrosted.
This was an a ideal opportunity for passing thieves. This can happen anywhere – so please don’t get caught out. It only takes a few minutes for a vehicle to be taken.
Insurance companies may not pay out for cars stolen in this way – and if your house keys are taken as well, you are making your home vulnerable too.
Freeze out car thieves on cold and frosty mornings by ensuring that you:
- clear windscreens with a de-icer and a scraper
- sit in your vehicle while the heater de-mists the windscreen
If you see anyone acting suspiciously, contact the police. Call 101 (non emergency) and 999 in an emergency.
