#Quit4good with new online stop #smoking service in #Warwickshire
Thousands of smokers in Warwickshire are being encouraged to ‘quit for good’ with the launch of new online stop smoking service www.quit4good.co.uk
Making the decision to become smoke free is now simpler than ever for Warwickshire residents, with access to the county’s online stop smoking support service www.quit4good.co.uk
Quit4good is a free 12 week programme providing regular support from expert Stop Smoking Advisors, access to a forum of fellow quitters, regular support emails and stop smoking medication (prescription payable). This new online service is in addition to the existing face-to-face Stop Smoking Advisor service that operates in Pharmacies and GP’s.
Pregnant smokers who want to “Quit4Baby” can also access the online service. Alternatively they can see a Stop Smoking in Pregnancy Advisor who can visit them at home, or visit a pharmacy who provides a Stop Smoking in Pregnancy Service.
Jane Wright, NHS Warwickshire Stop Smoking Manager, said,
“We now have a wide range of support options available for anyone who wants to become Smokefree and gain all the benefits this brings. When asked if they would recommend the service, 9 out of 10 smokers who’ve used a local NHS Stop Smoking Service say they would.”
Cllr Les Caborn, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Health, said:
“The quit4good service has helped thousands of smokers in Warwickshire to become smoke free. Research has shown that you are 4 times more likely to stop smoking for good if signed up to the quit4good 12 week programme. The launch of the new online service aims to widen access and encourage more people than ever in Warwickshire to sign up and quit smoking for good.”
Cllr Maggie O’Rourke, the County Council’s Chair of the Adults, Health and Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee, said:
“Stopping smoking is the best thing you can do to improve your health. Not only is the service now easier than ever to access, it also provides a community of quitters in Warwickshire, who can support and encourage each other along the quitting journey.”
