WE NEED YOU! WREP’s Hate Crime Questionnaires
Warwickshire Race Equality Partnership (WREP) is working in collaboration with Warwickshire County Council (WCC) and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office to establish the level of support needs for victims and witnesses of Hate Crime and Hate Incidents in Warwickshire.
WREP is a voluntary sector, a charitable organisation that was established in November of 2005, following extensive research and consultation to address the racial inequalities and lack of service provision across Warwickshire.
WREP is also a partnership between community organisations and the main public authorities in Warwickshire.
The services that WREP offer include Casework, Community Engagement, promoting Good Relations and the provision of Information and Research, of which further information is detailed on this website.
At present, WREP has a staff compliment of 6 members and all officers have areas of specialism, which they embark upon for the organisation which include policy development, quality standards, community engagement, interpretation and translation, sports health & physical activity development and race discrimination case management.
To date, WREP has achieved a 98% BME Community membership and have worked hard in establishing key contacts within the community. WREP’s mission has always been community focused and it is essential that we engage and include BME Communities as an integral part of the organisation, as a means of progressing further in identifying real issues concerning race equality.
WREP has produced 2 questionnaires in order to gain this information:
- a) Hate Crime Questionnaire – General Public
This questionnaire is for the general public and its purpose is to acquire information on what support services are accessed and utilised and if there is a need for additional support services in Warwickshire. Hate Crime and Hate Incidents are heavily under-reported and we would like to better understand what factors prevent people from reporting and what agencies can do to help victims report.
This questionnaire can be found at:https://www.quicksurveys.com/s/Et23S
- b) Hate Crime Questionnaire – Police and Public Agencies
The purpose of this questionnaire is to research what support services are accessed and utilised and if there is a need for additional support services in Warwickshire. The results of this questionnaire will feed into the Countywide Hate Crime Action Plan and the report will be made available to agencies from October 2016.

We would, therefore, be grateful if you could help us in this endeavour by completing the relevant questionnaire by Sunday 31st July 2016. Please, could you also forward this information on to your colleagues, members and contacts and place on your intranet & websites?
Your feedback is of great importance to us and we would like to thank you in advance for your support.
