Message to communities following incident in #Westminster

Following the tragic incident in Westminster yesterday

  • Warwickshire Police will be increasing visibility and foot patrolling across the County.
  • There will be an increase in the numbers of armed police, but these will be in strategic locations, vehicle based,  and generally not foot patrol officers.
  • Where there is a large scale public event planned there will be increased police presence and vigilance.
  • In addition the Police are asking the general public to be extra vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour or concerns, regardless of how insignificant it may appear.

It is important to emphasise that there is no specific intelligence relating to any threat to Warwickshire.

If you have any information about suspicious activity or behaviour you can report it in confidence by calling the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321 or by using the secure form at http://www.gov.uk/ACT. In an emergency situation call 999.
