New Dates #VAWG Training Dates Available For March & April – Book On Now
Warwickshire County Council’s Violence Against Women and Girls Team are pleased to announce that we have added new dates to 3 of our courses outlined below.
The Training Pathway
In 2017, we introduced a structured approach of training pitched at a specific level based on expected prior knowledge and professional requirements.
‘Universal’ courses are for all practitioners and volunteers that come into contact with the public in Warwickshire and have not undertaken any domestic violence and abuse training in the last 2 years. These courses need to be completed before progression to any of the ‘targeted’ training courses offered by the VAWG Board.
‘Targeted’ courses are for any practitioner or volunteer who works with those who may be affected by domestic violence and abuse Warwickshire. Targeted courses can only be accessed once the ‘universal’ Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse course or equivalent has been completed. The previously offered Freedom Programme for Professionals is considered equivalent if completed in the last 2 years.
YOU ARE ABLE TO BOOK ONTO THE TARGETED COURSES AS LONG AS YOU WILL BE COMPLETING OR HAVE COMPLETED A UNIVERSAL COURSE PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE TARGETED COURSE.
Please ensure you read the information for each course carefully before booking.

You will need to have a Wilma account in order to book onto this training and if you do not you will be able to set one up using the same link. Anybody can register for a Wilma account, you do not have to be a member of Warwickshire County Council, please find an information sheet ‘how to sign up to Wilma’ attached.
Please be advised that booking onto this training does not guarantee that you will be offered a place, as part of this training it is important that we have a good mix of different professional delegates attending and therefore places will be offered on this basis and at the discretion of the Violence Against Women and Girls Team. The closing date for applications to each course is indicated on the booking page. You will receive a confirmation email of a place or an email stating that you have been unsuccessful after this date.
All courses are subject to The Violence Against Women and Girls Cancellation Policy, terms and conditions are detailed on the Wilma site and attached to this email. Please ensure you have your manager’s permission to attend the training before booking your place.
